Things I wonder and see

I take a great number of photographs and as I look through them over time it makes me remember why I took them.

Termite mound in tree, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Termite mound

Now why would the termites build a nest in the tree? If they eat the tree then the nest falls to the ground right?

Lobster shell, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Lobster shell

Was it also blue and when it was alive it was a very rare lobster or did it get that way after it died?

Hibiscus flower, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Hibiscus flower

Sometimes I just wonder at the beauty and evolution. How long did it take to evolve the yellow, white and red so as to attract the insects to the target with the pollen?

Ancient grave by the sea, Bannermantown, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Ancient grave by the sea

This happens to be a very old grave and from what I’ve read was from some of the original slaves that lived and died in the southern end of the island of Eleuthera. Yet now the sea is encroaching and tearing apart these graves. The sea was always there so why did they bury people so close to the shore?

Tree in a roof, Cupid's Cay, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Tree in a roof

How does this tree survive? It grows out of the concrete but is strong enough to hold itself out on an angle. Does it get it’s nourishment from the old wooden roof?

Trash to art, Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Bahamas

Trash to art

Now someone here has found some great inspiration and spent a great deal of time collecting trash at the beach. I wonder how many hours in collecting and building this were taken.

You see- I wonder about a lot of things!

Great photos! Around here (North Carolina), we would say that we “ponder” about many things.
I always enjoy reading your blogs and looking at the great photos, Todd.
    Keep up the fabulous work!
