Last week we played a new game. Well actually the game isn’t new by any means but how it was played was. Buoy Ball Bocce!
(This was going to be posted earlier but the tragedy in Connecticut put this on the back burner and as we approach Christmas please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers.)
Metal Buoy Balls found through beach walks. The softball is the jack that you want to get closest to.
The jack is thrown and then each perso gets a turn trying to get their buoy closet to the jack.
Bocce field where we played.
The bocce field is a field on the edge of the beach facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Seeing who got the closest to the jack and who gets the point. One point for the person that gets closest and the game goes to 21.
There were some close calls and we did accurate measures – by foot- to see who the winner was.
This was as close to the edge as we went. No one wanted to go down the 30′ bank to have to retrieve the Buoy Bocce Ball.
So with a bit of inventiveness and a free Sunday afternoon, Buoy Ball Bocce was concieved!
